Our Work

Pathways to Housing

Having a safe, affordable, clean and dignified place to call home is key for families and communities to thrive. Stanislaus Equity Partners connects residents with affordable mortgages. STEP also works to demonstrate new housing models that can be replicated or scaled to provide more affordable housing options. The following are projects and prototypes we are currently working on:

Backyard Homes

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are a great, cost-effective way to create new housing.

Tiny Home Villages

We’re working with faith-based organizations to develop tiny home villages on church properties.

Permanent Supportive Housing

The James St, Apartments project is a seven unit, newly constructed complex that provides permanent supportive housing for Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services clients who are at risk or experiencing homelessness. This project is the result of a collaborative effort between City of Modesto, Stanislaus Affordable Housing Corporation, Stanislaus Equity Partners, and Stanislaus County BHRS. The James St. Project attracted $1.7 MM investment from the Project Homekey Program of the California Department of Housing and Community Development to serve some of Modesto's most vulnerable residents with a combination of affordable housing and supportive services designed to help vulnerable individuals and families using stable housing as a platform for health, recovery, and personal growth.

Affordable Mortgages

Whether you have limited credit history or have a lot of experience with credit, STEP can connect you with fair and affordable mortgage options.
